The CRS® (Cell Regulation Screening)-system allows a non-invasive metabolic analysis within seconds. On basis of this measurement result the actual health status of the test subject is calculated. In terms of a screening procedure, the actual health status provides the physician with important information on the general health condition of a test person.

Human metabolism is the sum of all life supporting biochemical and biophysical processes, differing from human being to human being, and from period of life to period of life. In addition to this, human metabolism varies due to many other factors such as physical or mental stress. Comprehensive insights into the current state of health of the human organism can be gained by metabolism analysis.

So far, the metabolism analysis uses the results of several single analysis like costly laboratory analyses of single organ function, the immune and hormone system, the lipid and mineral metabolism, etc.. For a comprehensive analysis of the actual health status other information is needed, e.g., about the actual status of regulation processes with respect to the immune and hormone system, the normal cell division and degradation system and the individual detoxication capacity against free radicals. This is of particular interest in the field of high performance sport, as an optimized training status is characterized by short recovery periods, e.g., an optimized regulation capacity.

Ideally, a comprehensive metabolism analysis should be able to detect individual deficiency of micronutrients, so that an individual mixture of micronutrients (concomitant with prescribed therapy) for a directed regulation of any impaired metabolic process could be recommended. Thereby the breakout of illness is antagonized as well as the convalescence is supported. At the same time an arbitrary combination or an over-dosage is avoided.

Mevitec has developed a new method for non-invasive measurement of the metabolic regulation, the CRS-system. The analysis is based on the autofluorescence of endogenous metabolic substances in intercellular fluid.
The advantage of this newly developed method is not only the non-invasive procedure but also quick measurement and interpretation, enabling the monitoring of metabolic regulation without impairment of the volunteer, and at a reasonable price for the first time.

  • The screening method requires no blood sample - it is painless and can be performed within seconds.
  • The autofluorescence of endogenous metabolic substances is registered non-invasively using a measurement probe. The measurement is done on the ball of the person's left or right hand.
  • The information collected is transferred to a user-friendly software for evaluation.

How has the CRS® system been developed?
The non-invasive CRS-system is the further development of the so-called RSA - Redox-Serum-Analysis, which measures the redox potential in blood serum which has been incubated with certain metabolic substrates or stress factors respectively. Measured and computed redox potentials/values provide the basis for statements about the actual metabolic situation and its capacity against stress. In the meantime the RSA-data pool comprises about 1,2 million measurements which were approved by clinical diagnosis. Due to the invasive sample taking and the costly sample handling and measurement procedure the use of the RSA method is confined to a few specialized labs. Therefore, the basis of the non-invasive CRS-system has been developed by means of comparative measurements since 1997.

What conclusions can be drawn from a measurement?
The CRS-system uses UV-light to excite the autofluorescence of metabolic substances like ATP, FAD, NADPH, etc. However, the autofluorescence of a single, or bundle of metabolic substances does not give any information about the actual health status of the volunteer. The combination of the single substances with each other in a specific manner enables the interpretation of any metabolic disorders or stress or regulatory disorders, respectively. Therefore, emitted fluorescence is analysed by the CRS-system and well-ordered in specific terms, so that the pattern of distribution tells us about the state of health. The calculated parameters allow the following statements about the actual health status "general performance capability":

  • Protection from metabolic acidosis
  • Immune resistance
  • Metabolic regulation
  • Physical training status
  • Protection from oxidative stress
  • Mental stress capacity
  • Protection from infectious processes
  • Connective tissue condition
  • Regulation of inflammatory processes
  • Allergic activation
  • Cell regeneration processes
  • Cell reduction processes
  • Micronutritional requirements

From these values, the CRS is able to detect gaps in the supply of micronutrients and provides information about individual supplemental needs.
