Indicators
The indicators are based on the measured intensities of fluorescence of the different metabolic substances. The intensity of fluorescence is a measure of the activity of the respective metabolic substance since it is formed directly proportionally to the quantity of the substance. The ratios of the intensities of fluorescence provide information on the interactions between the different substances on the microcellular level. This allows for statements on various metabolic processes and their regulation on the microcellular level. Indicators include for example cell division activity, activity of biosyntheses, regulation of the immune function and the redox equivalents.
